As a followup

(1) Anybody having seen ticket views showing 'no such variable'
    messages can simply reload the page to fix the issue. I had not
    rebuild the databases before sending my mail, causing the index
    schema to be out of sync with the ticketing setup. This is now corrected.

(2) To add attachments to a new ticket, create and submit the ticket,
    then attach from the ticket view page.
     Note! Limitation.
     Users which are not logged in, or logged in as anonymous do not
    have the permissions to create attachments (At least not by default).
    I am not convinced yet to change the defaults, as they prevent
    spammers from taking advantage.

    On the other hand, an anon login goes through a captcha, as are
    users which are not logged in at all (*). So maybe allowing it is not
    too dangerous.

    On this topic I would like to hear more opinions.

(*) The latter actually go through two captchas. (Preview, and Submit
have a captcha each for them).
