Ok, new year, new release.

Well, while not right now, I do hope to be done with making it by end of 
January.

This is my announcement that a release phase has started, tests will be run, 
changes aggregated for the README, etc. pp.

If any of you have bugfixes waiting in the wings, now would be a good time to 
get them in.
