Dear community, This is an anouncement how BWidget may develop and how interested people may help. Current state: - Jeffrey Hobbs and Damon Courtney have maintaned BWidget and are available for support - I have started integrating bug fixes and small features reported on sourceforge into current CVS - Johann Oberdorfer has sent me a ttk extended version of BWidget - I have read on clt, that there are quite a few people extending BWidgets with ttk abilities. Proposed steps and timeline: 1) Bug fixing of present BWidget (in June 2009) - I will review all bugs and integrate them eventually into cvs - Release at end of June of BWidget 1.9 (Bug fix release) Tasks for the Cummunity: - please be shure that any bug you have found is reported on sourceforge 2) Move current BWidget to use ttk widgets if available (July and August 2009) - Review and Integrate the patches of Johann - Review and Integrate eventually other patches - Release a BWidget 2.0 release end of August 2009. This release should: - still run with older tcl/tk (I think, BWidgets runs with tcl/tk 8.0 at the moment) - use ttk widgets if required - be mostly compatible but for example remove configuration options, which are now themed Tasks for the Cummunity: - Please publish any patches (in any form) on sourceforge as patches. You may just zip your files but please publish them there. Johann, please do this with your version, if it is ready. - Please comment any patches and help me integrating them Please comment and discuss on the tcllib-devel mailing list. Regards, Harald |
