hi - wikipedia says - TCLBLEND: call Java class libraries from the C runtime using JNI and an embedded JVM. i think i read that java has to be compiled to bytecode before it can be interpreted. once the java code is compiled does tclblend require the java runtime environment present so a java method or object can be used from within tcl? in other words if i wanted to deploy a tcl app that used tclblend would i also need to deploy the jre? i was hoping i could write code that made use of collections and call it from tcl without having the jre needed for deployment. that would be a big feature. some people dont want to download the entire jre before checking out my java app (and in this case tcl app). thanks for shedding some light on this for me. i usually dont know what makes something run behind the scenes. jim --------------------------------- Now that's room service!
