The man pages for dp_MakeRPCServer says:
The port number used is returned unless retFile in
non-zero, in which case both the file identifier and
the port number for the listening socket is
returned.
But a quick check reveals:
tclsh8.4
% package require dp
4.0
% set port [dp_MakeRPCServer]
tcp0
% fconfigure $port -myport
34243
%
The command returns the socket handle, not the port
number. This should be noted in the docs, perhaps with
a reference to fconfigure.
