I have written all this before but for the sake of a succinct
summary, I will do it again.
Building BLT 2.4z for X11 on MacOS X is fairly trivial. I posted
patches for doing this years ago on the BLT site.
BLT 2.4z will not build with Aqua Tcl/Tk, as distributed with Tiger,
because it requires more simulated X11 functions than Aqua Tcl/Tk
I did inspire Michael MacFarlane, who unlike me had some
understanding of X11 programming, to hack up an AquaBLT which would
build using Aqua Tcl/Tk. It was very alpha, but if someone wants to
work on it, they are welcome to the code.
We gave up further work because the work George Howlett is doing for
BLT 3 includes a proper MacOS GUI and we saw no point in
duplicating. BLT3 is still being actively worked on. However, there
is at least one source file missing from the public cvs. So it won't
build. Maybe if anyone has influence with George they could ask him
to upload the missing file/s.
