In the Aqua embedded Wish shell, version 8.5a3, do the following:
spinbox .sb -highlightbackground blue -background green
pack .sb -padx 20 -pady 20
Note that the highlightbackground color only surrounds the entry box,
and not the up/down buttons.
Note that the background color surrounds the buttons and fills the
inside of the entry box.
This basically makes it impossible to make a spinbox widget look like
a native themed widget. To get a proper looking spinbox, you need to
be able to set the inside of the entry box to a white background. You
also need to set the background surrounding the up/down buttons to the
dialog background color, which is not white, and can be pinstriped
under OS X 10.4. Both of these features have their color dictated by
the -background color, though.
Spinboxes need to draw the background around their up/down buttons
using the highlightbackground color instead of the background color.
And reading the code, it _looks_ like it's supposed to be doing that.
But it doesn't. Can someone more knowledgeable about the newer CG
Context Setup code please take a look at this and figure out why it's
not working right?
