Fair enough. That's good feedback for revising the schedule. So we want Tk 8.5 to still be in alpha during a possible January hackfest. Also current HEAD is perceived as not having impressive enough stuff in it yet to waste on release fanfare. So how about this revision: Release 8.5a1 approximately 10/15/2003 enough time to make HEAD impressive? Release 8.5a2 approximately 12/15/2003 "solid" alpha to hack on. Release 8.5a3 approximately 2/15/2004 the hackfest results Release 8.5b1 approximately 4/1/2004 feature freeze Is that better? Or is it really better to not talk about these things for a while?
