[MACTCL] [ANN] TclTkAqua 8.4.5b1 distributions available for testing

Dear All, I have made available a beta release of the upcoming Tcl/Tk Aqua 8.4.5 BI, and would be grateful for help in testing that the various components perform as expected (I have spent only very limited time on testing). Everything is available under http://tcltkaqua.sourceforge.net/8.4.5b1/ more details below. Many components have been upgraded since 8.4.4.0, c.f. list below, and I have added a number of additional ports & features, c.f. http://tcltkaqua.sourceforge.net/8.4.5b1/CHANGES http://tcltkaqua.sourceforge.net/8.4.5b1/README for details. I have built the distribution both on Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and 10.3 (Panther), but if no problems with the Jaguar release are reported by Panther users, for the 8.4.5 final I plan to distribute only the Jaguar release to reduce confusion (unless people think having the Panther release would be useful?). The rest of the 8.4.5b1 directory contains the tools used to build the distro, as usual, this is also in CVS tagged as 'release-8_4_5_0b1' I'm grateful for all reports of success/failure (if possible with debugging of any problems, I have very limited time at the moment) or any other constructive comments; and would also appreciate proof-reading of README and other documents, in particular those in http://tcltkaqua.sourceforge.net/8.4.5b1/Installer/ and its subdirectories. One last point to note: on Panther, at present, the Tcl.pkg installer will replace /usr/bin/tclsh8.4 installed by the system, what are people's opinions on that, should we preserve the existing binary e.g. by renaming it (to tclsh8.4.4?), or move our binary into /usr/local/bin (noting well that this is not in the user's PATH by default?).
