Recently while dealing with a "send" alternative, Marc Culler brought up another newer feature of the POSIX signal magic,

   pthread_sigqueue(3)

which allows real time signal information to be passed. This would indeed require to revise TIP 511 to have another public
function going further than Tcl_AsyncMarkFromSignal()  to deal with the "const union sigval" element of this pthread function.
