I just want to let you know that I have started to replace the 
implementation of the "tk attribtable" command using Tcl scripts with 
one written entirely in C.  Thanks to Emiliano's tkcargo package, from 
which I can reuse several ideas and code fragments, I am making good 
progress (the set, get, names, and pathnames subcommands already work as 
expected), but it will take a few more days to get everything ready.
