Initially, I didn't plan to propose removing the {} encoding: It
would be a useful shorthand for -encoding iso8859-1 (for
people who cannot remember the number). Until Rolf or
you (I don't remember who brought it up) mentioned the
possible confusion: "-encoding {}" could also be shorthand
for the system encoding, which usually is "utf-8". That
convinced me that it's better to remove it as well.
