I talked to a couple of folks who use this.  With the 8.3.4 sources
configure/make worked pretty straightforwardly...  You might check out the
Fink distro (http://fink.sourceforge.net)  - they have Tcl/Tk for Xfree,
with lots of other goodies.  They don't seem to have Itcl, but I bet getting
Tcl/Tk/Xfree on your system is going to be the hard part...

You will have to monkey a bit to get it built, but it should work.
