Can't reproduce the problem. Using Tcl/Tk 8.3.3 and Mac OS 8.6 and 9.1.
You could try my native menubutton at 
"http://hem.fyristorg.com/matben/download/MacMenuButton.sit"
but bindings to the actual menu are the same.
