[MACTCL] Vertical Text on Label

This is not  a MAC specific question, but I was hoping
someone on this list could answer my question ...

I want the label to have vertical text NOT horizontal 
on a widget (i.e., either label or button). Is there a
switch (option) to set the text to be vertical instead
of the default being horizontal??? Something like ...
WRAP CHARACTER???

The text widget has a "WORD" option to wrap the text
in it's widget, but I would like to control the wrap
on a label.

example :

instead of a button having the label appear like :

|   CAT      | 
-----------------

I would like the button to have the label appear like
:

| C | 
| A | 
| T | 
------
