there was a bug in an mac-beta version of 8.3.3, where the cfrg name 
of Tcl8.3.shlb was set to 'Tcl8.4', it sounds like you have this 
version installed (check the library name in the 'cfrg' resource of 
Tcl8.3.shlb)

you should upgrade to the latest 8.3.3 installer on sourceforge.
