On my old laptop, however, I have confirmed that TclTk 8.6.10 compiled with -mmacosx-version-min=10.8 has the text scrolling problems I described: no scroll buttons side or bottom, garbled rendering of text during scrolling. When I compile with -mmacosx-version-min=10.9, 10.12, or 10.13, the scrolling works perfectly, and the scroll buttons appear.
