A reluctant yes from me too. The event loop issues have been show 
stoppers for a couple of my older apps, but, Cocoa is really the only 
way forward.

With the "security" stuff in Mountain Lion to make the Mac App Store the 
only trusted software source by default, I can't see Apple keeping 
Carbon around for much longer than they have to.
