I've been running Reinhard's ipv6 patch on my site for ages now. It
was solaris and is now linux. And iirc my local linux tclkits are all
using it too so when I go to irc it uses ipv6 magically.

I reckon we should just jam in the unix ipv6 support and windows can
follow later.
