Hi,
  1) Good news.  With all this experience under our belts,
we ought to be able to do something interesting.

  2) Regarding a 2009 mailing list - perhaps we should have a
generic TclGSoC mailing list, and keep it from year-to-year.

  3) We are still on Google's radar.  The Tcl Association is getting
very close to existing - paperwork is at a lawyer's office, bank
account is set up. Now that a bank account exists, I'm finally filling
out the Google forms to get the mentor fees paid.

  I'm not sure if this is good "on the radar", but at least they
know we're (very) trying.

  If anyone is interested, setting up a for-profit company is
a piece of cake (even a "C" corp is trivial) compared to a NFP
entity.

  I won't claim the taxing entities deliberately make it difficult
to exempt yourself from giving them money, but I'll admit that if
I were in their position and making rules, I'd give that technique
serious consideration.
