I like "lexpr" better because unlike Jeff, I pronounce it "L expr" and 
means exactly what you think it means, an expr that takes L syntax.

"el" is nice for shortness sake but it is going to make people hiccup
when they see it.

The only downside I see to "lexpr" is maybe people with think it means
"list expr", but that seems unlikely, what would a list expr do?
