#3144 text searching with -elide screwing up on consecutive items

There is a problem when searching a text widget for
something and it has been taged and made elide before.
For example I have the following in [] is elide:
and I want to find all the a's, it will skip one of
them. I made a quick script to demonstrate. If you
would like a example with images, change line 368 in
the smileys.tcl file in the amsn progam from return -1
to return $pos and then type several consecutive
smileys to someone.

    I believe these bugs have all been fixed in Tk 8.5, along
    with the dozens of improvements to the text widget through
    various TIPs. The changes are quite significant and
    unlikely to be backported to 8.4.

    Please test with 8.5 and provide an example if the bug still
