CustomShell:

Comments:
Let me know if I should reinstall into another folder.

ReproducibleScript:
Start wish. Go to menu: File>Source ...
Dialog box outline comes up and hangs. Exit via opt-comm-esc to force quit.
Problem does not occur with wish 8.2.1.
My system: Mac G3, OpSys: 8.5.1.
Note: I installed into Tcl/Tk folder that already had 8.2.1 installed. Perhaps that was a problem?
Regards,
Burt Chambers

ObservedBehavior:
see above

DesiredBehavior:
Expected an open file dialog box.

    fixed in 8.3.3, will submit the fix to 8.4 in my upcoming mac
    patch. BTW, tk bug #220911 is a duplicate of this bug.

    for ref, the problem is caused by the missing & in the
    CustomGetFile call in: (excerpt of a full diff)

    diff -u -r1.6 tkMacDialog.c
    if (isOpen == OPEN_FILE) {
    if (ofd != NULL && ofd->usePopup) {
    CustomGetFile(openFilter, (short) -1, NULL, &reply,
    OPEN_BOX,
    - mypoint, openHook, NULL, NULL, NULL, (void*) &
    ofd);
    + mypoint, openHook, NULL, NULL, NULL, (void*)
    ofd);
    } else {
    StandardGetFile(NULL, -1, NULL, &reply);
    }
