#10 Check for new messages

Two ideas for you to consider:

1) Is it possible to add an option to create a new
e-mail message?
2) Is it possible to add an option to check for new
e-mail messages on all or some servers?

I'm not sure if there are any tie-ins you can make to
TB to call these functions (maybe make a link with
mailto: for the compose new message, since most people
using TB-Tray probably have TB as their default mail
client)?

Ok, I am an idiot and just saw the "Write Mail" option
availible. I guess that leaves the checking for new mail
messages. :)

I´d find the "check for new e-mail messages"-feature very
useful, combined with an animated tray icon when unread
messages are available.

I know this feature from The Bat! and find it useful, since
I often don´t hear the notifying sound because of music or
because I´m not in the room at the very moment the mail
arrives. As soon I continue working at my PC I see the tray
icon moving and check my mails.

The tray icon of The Bat! is a bat which flaps its wings
when mail is available.
I would be satisfied if the thunderbird tray icon would just
blink.

Hi!

I wrote a mail to the Author many month ago with these both
topics. But till now i haven't an reply.
