When I right click a task in the task view, I can select "select parent
tasks". However, nothing seems to happen, i.e., I do not know how to use
this functionality. I am running Mint Linux 14.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Christian

PS: Feature request: It would be helpful to be able to specify the
parent task in the "Task Quick Creation" in the add task bar, e.g., by
specifying "#parent task" or something similar, which would result in
searching a parent task that starts this the specified letters.

"Select parent task" will only select the parent of the selected tasks.

    So if you have
    A
    B (subtask of A)
    C (subtask of B)

If you select C and then click on "Select parent task", TaskUnifier will select B, if you do it again, it will select A.

It has nothing to do with assigning a parent.

    I hope that's more clear.

Thanks a lot for the explanation! Indeed, I had assumed that "select parent task" would assign the parent task.

What do you think about my feature request in the first post?

    Thanks,
    Christian
