Thanks for the good news!
Current version can't use Double-Byte Character Set for contacts.
Current version can type contacts by DBCS but will be chnaged to unreadable characters after syncronize.
If the new version supports it, it would be very nice.
Request from Japan.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your kind words.
TaskUnifier 2 will be available in two versions like before.
A free version with the standard features and a commercial "Pro" version with the advanced features like templates, custom filters and synchronization with Toodledo.
The development is already well advanced, but the synchronization part still needs to be developped and will take some time.
But I hope to release a first version within 3 months.
Benjamin, this is awesome...
Do you think it would be possible for you to add a feature that would allow us to import and export data files from the old to the new?
I keep using the old task unifier even though we cannot synchronize anymore. Have been adding a lot of new tasks since.
Besides, it would nice to be able to use both the new and old and work with both at the same time.
I'm not a programmer. I don't know how much feasible this would be but.. anytway... Thank you.
I really like the old one. So colourful and contrast is so easy to read.

Hello,
Yes, there will be a feature to import to data from TaskUnifier to TaskUnifier 2.
But you won't be able to use both at the same time.

I know you are a few months away from the initial TaskUnifier 2, but if you ever need anyone to do some testing, just let me know.
Years ago I gave you some feedback which you incorprated in the original TaskUnifer and it would be a pleasure to help again if I could.

I have searched the web, appstore etc. for days and for just one simple feature of an task manager: Estimated Time and filtering of outstanding work in hours/days based on project, location and so on. Only TaskUnifier seems to have that feature. I am in the progress of putting all my task notes in TaskUnifier, so data import to TaskUnifier2 would be cruical later.
Will TaskUnifier2 still have this feature to estimate effort (in hours) and report it back?
With a modern interface and maybe some sync possiblity to mobile i would glady buy a pro version. If i do not have estimated time, i can stuck with any other app. And because that, i don't use any of them but raw text files with QDo.app Summary.
IMHO, every taskmanager without estimated time is nearly usless, cause you do not know how much time is still occupied by future tasks! .. whatever shiny gui it might have :-/. Estimated time and reports about pre-occupied time and effort are crucial if you won't put much to much on your task agenda!
And a last question: Will TaskUnifier2 run on Mac Os in 64 bit and what is with Java in future?
THX for an answer and further information about development progress.

Yes, TaskUnifier 2 will still have that feature.
You can set the time already spent, the estimated length, add reminders and show everything in a calendar.
Yes, TaskUnifier 2 will be released at the beginning on Mac, Windows and Linux.
TaskUnifier 2 is not developed in java, so we won't have that problem anymore (especially on mac).

Top. I can make a donation but only with a bill, cause i will use TaskUnifier2 commercial and have to take expenses through accounting. Please add option or hints for a bill. My locations is Germany/Europe. ValueAddedTax would be 19% if possible. If not possible i wait for the PRO Version and will buy it later.
Thx for your answer about my questions above!

Really glad that Task Unifier has a future again.

Ecaroh: Concerning the donation, via Paypal you will receive a receipt but I have no idea whether that's what you need or not.
Thanks for the proposition Philip, I would definitely need some users to test the app before releasing the first version.
The development goes smooth, I still plan to release the first version in about 2 months.
Except the synchronization and the reminder features that I still need to develop, the rest is well advanced and works already pretty well.
Some more news, the website is almost done, I bought a new domain name for taskunifier too.
The first alpha version should arrive within a month.
I will send the link to download it here, so that if somebody wants to test it and give feedback that would be very much appreciated.

Tell, please, what you will do with old version? Will be "Taskunifier 4.3.4 PRO" also available for free after release new version?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
A first alpha version is available.
But this is not a final version at all, it still contains bugs, the synchronization with Toodledo is not finished and not fully reliable and I still have to allow the import of the data from the old TaskUnifier.
So, if anybody wants to try it, feel free, but be aware that this should also be for testing or to have an idea how it will look like. Don't use it to store important data.

I have downloaded the new beta version and it looks good.
Eventually will the number of tasks in each category show on screen?
On the beta version it only shows when each category is selected
I have managed to download my tasks from Toodledo and will have a play with it over the weekend.
Many Thanks
Philip

Maybe, for the moment I still have to work on the performance of the app. Once and when the app will be fast enough even with a big amount of tasks, then I will add the possibility to show the number of tasks in each filter as this requires a lot of computations.
Glad to know that you successfully retrived your data from Toodledo.
Be carefull when using your real account as a couple of fields are not yet synchronized (repeat, sub-tasks...) so if you change a task in TaskUnifier and synchronize, your will loose this information in Toodledo.

Hi,
I abandonned TaskUnifier some years ago but I'm glad to announce that TaskUnifier 2 is under development and should be released soon.
It is completely rewritten with new technologies and should look much better than the current version.

UPDATE: TaskUnifier 2 is now available: https://www.taskunifier.app/app

Thats Great News
Looking forward to giving the new software a thorough test
