ability to use <ALT>-N (where N is 1,2,3..0) to jump to
the respective program in the task list without first
triggering alt-tab.

In other words if i know that firefox is third on the
list i can just type ALT-3 and it would automatically
jump to that program without popping up the alt-tab
window..

It would also be helpful to lock the order of the
applications by 'started time' or some other sort key so

Have you ever thought about hotkeys for forward and backward
switching? There is one-way switching by pressing Alt-Tab but
when you want to go back (without closing TaskSwitch
window) you need to press Shift holding Alt and then Tab
again still holding the Alt pressed. It's very annoyed when you
try to do it with only left hand.
Suggestion: it would be greate to add at least one hotkey in
addition to Alt-Tab to perform backward movement e.g. you
press Alt-Tab, then Tab again and then want to return... and
press - let it be - "Q" holding Alt pressed. Further, if you just
press Alt-Q you'll get TaskSwitch window positioned on the
    last task.
