As the title says, since I upgraded to 1.3.18 and then to 1.3.19 I can't edit tasks anymore. It doesn't work with double click and neither with right click then left click on "edit".Tthis is very very bad, and it makes the program unusable, since I can't see the work time I accumulated or the budget.
I hope there is is a fix for this somehow. Thanks!

Hi, I'm guessing something went wrong with your .ini file which specifies the size and location of the editor windows.

Please find and attach your file here so we can look at it, see http://answers.launchpad.net/taskcoach/+faq/1061

If you then delete that file (or give it a temporary alternate name), Task Coach will create a new file and you will lose your preferences but should be able to access everything and you won't lose any task data.

If we find (or you can test this yourself if you are comfortable) that just some size or location data is missing for the window settings in the .ini, we can adjust those and then you can use the file again and get back all your settings. Otherwise, if the new .ini works, then you can just reset your viewers and preferences and be fine.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Best,
    Aaron

Please let us know whether renaming/removing the TaskCoach.ini file helped. Thanks.

I had this problem when upgrading from 1.3.20 to 1.3.22. Renaming/removing the TaskCoach.ini file did not help. I needed to revert to 1.3.20.

I think some elements of this problem have been fixed. If you're up for it, please try the latest bugfix version:
    http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py

You could make a copy of your .tsk file so there is no loss just in case. See if this works. And then let us know if there are still problems.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

I just updated from a program version from last year sometime, and now I am having this issue with version 1.3.27 under Mac OS 10.6.8.

I now cannot edit any of my tasks, so the program is rendered pretty much useless. Is there some way to regress to an earlier version??

I found that 1.3.27 on Windows 7 now works fine for me and doesn't have this problem, so must be something in the Mac release.

You can "regress" to an earlier version by installing the earlier version. Your tsk file will have been updated by Task Coach though, so you'll probably need to open it up and edit it with a text editor and edit the version it's compatible with.

So the interior formatting of the tsk file isn't changed between the past few versions? If so, that's good to know. But I did manage (even without knowing that) to re-create an up-to-date tsk file from my backups, so it's all good there.

I experimented with different versions, and 1.3.24 is the last one which allows me to edit my tasks. 25, 26, and 27 all briefly dimmed the front window, as if the edit window were coming, but no new window opened. When I quit, all three would give me an error message telling me to look at my log file.

This is probably another date formatting related bug. It would help if you could post the log file as well as a screenshot of your date format settings.
