Hi guys.
I'm using the "Description" area as task log, as it is the only way to enclose the full work-log in an e-mail.

But today when I tryed to send an email, I got the following error:
Translation to english: "[Error 122] The dataarea, that was send to a systemcall, is too small"

The error occurs when I rightclick the task, and choose "Send mail"

I am using Windows Vista (tryed with windows 7 aswell) and MS Outlook 2007

Thank you for a great product by the way!

    Hi,

How big is the contents of the description field? Maybe a better solutiun is to put the log in an text file and add that as an attachment to the task? (Attachments are currently not attached to the mail when you send a task, that is on my personal wishlist though...)

    Cheers, Frank

    Hi Frank,

Well, sometimes when I have large assignment, I get up to a couple a thousend characters. The text file could be a solution, however it would require some more work when creating and maintaining it. And as you say, it is not attached when you mail it :(

For now I think the easyest solution for me is to manually create the email. However it would be greatly appreciated, if you were able fix the dataarea issue.

The only reason why I use the description field, is that I don't have a way to create logs, that are easy to look through. I would be great if you could create logs like you create efforts, and then have a view for task logs, so when you clicked on a task, the task logs would show in another view.

Thank you for taking your time to reply with a possible solution anyway.

We use a mailto: url to send email so that the operating system selects the default mail client of the user to compose the mail message. I guess one or more of the programs that deal with the url (Windows, Outlook) have a limitation on the maximum length of the url.

    Cheers, Frank
