After adding the PPA didn't work (see my previous ticket), I'm trying to follow the instructions at https://www.taskcoach.org/download_for_linux.html for Ubuntu. They say,

"Prerequisites
Python 2.6 and wxPython 3.0.0.0-unicode (or newer)."

It would help to list an apt command to install those, since these instructions are specific to Ubuntu. The links are only semi-helpful. For example the wxPtyhon link goes to https://www.wxpython.org/pages/downloads/, which is pretty discouraging for a casual Ubuntu user, "Yes, we have Linux Wheels. Sort of. ... it is not possible to host binary wheel files for Linux on PyPI unless they can be made to work within the constraints of PEP 513 Unfortunately, attempts to pound the wxPython peg into the manylinux1 hole have not been very successful" - I'm not a Python developer and I have no idea what those things are :)

Did you get it to work and succeed at installing the right things? I'm now myself having trouble and need these instructions myself!

I had the same problem Task Coach not being in the packages on Kubuntu 20.04 and not being able install it anyway. So I created an AppImage. Try it out if it works ok for you.

The script to build is also there with instructions how to build it. Feel free to make the script better.
