If I open the 'Effort for selected tasks' viewer and dock it somewhere, then restart TaskCoach, this viewer won't keep its size or position. If I made it half the width of the screen, it will force itself to about 200px in the corner of the screen.

If I nest it as a tab inside another viewer, on restart it will not be nested anymore.

How are you restarting? Task Coach saves those settings in its .ini file https://answers.launchpad.net/taskcoach/+faq/1061

It only updates the .ini file upon closing.

Can you verify that you are docking the viewer and then closing Task Coach correctly before reopening?

Otherwise, try clearing the .ini and then restarting and resetting your prefs and layout, and see if it then saves correctly the layout.

I can confirm that I'm closing it correctly. In fact, if I remove the ini and load again, I have the same problem.
