#1493 Import CSV on Mac requires DOS line endings

When trying to import a CSV file, could never get the Import window to appear after selecting the file in the Open window and clicking OK. Nothing would happen. After experimenting, discovered that Task Coach is expected DOS line endings "\r\n". Being on a Mac, my line endings are just "\n", same as Linux. SO it could also be an issue on Linux (but have not tried it).

Works for me. Could you attach a CSV file that you cannot import ?

I will upload a file when I can but it may be a few days. Thanks for looking into it.

Got to it sooner than I thought. task3.csv does not import. I created it by starting with a Task Coach exported csv file and then editing within Aquamacs on a Mac running Mavericks. After fooling with it for awhile, I discovered that if I tell Aquamacs to save the file in DOS format, then I can import the resulting csv. tasks.csv is an example of one that was written in DOS format (not really sure what that means but assume at least the line endings are different). tasks.csv imports fine into Task Coach.

Aaaaah I see. This file has neither Unix nor DOS line endings, it has the old-style (classic) Mac line endings. That explains why I couldn't reproduce it :)

Probably an Aquamacs setting. Anyway I'll fix the code so this case works as well.

A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release. You will get another notification when that release is available with the request to install the new release and confirm that your issue has indeed been fixed.

If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.

Because a fix has been made for this bug report, the priority of this report has been lowered to 1 and its resolution has been set to 'Fixed'.
    Thanks, Task Coach development team

This bug should be fixed in the latest release of Task Coach. Can you please install the latest release of Task Coach and confirm that this bug has indeed been fixed?

    Thanks, Task Coach development team

I downloaded the new version (1.3.36) and tested against my files and it worked fine. I missed the fact that it was old Mac endings. I've never noticed that about Aquamacs and I should have included my use of Aquamacs in the original posting. Thanks for the fix!
