when Tapestry 5.0.2 came out (mid of march or so), I worked some days on it and I got it practically running with docu and examples. Some stuff was left to do, but 70-80% was ready then. But later (due to a new job) I had no more time to complete it. Some weeks later, when 5.0.3 was out, I just tested the code again (with 5.0.3) but... ...there appeared some incompatibilities, so I said to myself: wait until Tap5 is stable, and that's the current status until now. Don't really know if Tap 5 is stable now and also don't know when and if I will find time to complete it, but I am still interested in it.
If you are interested in the code, you might check it out on this project's CVS. check out jscook4t5, It is eclipse project and requires maven2 plugin (codehaus). Since it is mavenized, you can easily run and build it without eclipse as well.
What basically was left to do (with 5.0.2 is the XML version and some JS issues)
