#54 Make action key customizable

Hello,

I love this neat little program! I'm beginning to wonder why Microsoft didn't include that functionality directly...

Anyway, I have a small suggestion: Would it be possible to make the key customizable by user that needs to be pressed together with a mouse action? For example I'd like to have my "Windows-key" instead of ALT.

Why I'm writing this? I just deinstalled Photoshop CS4 three (!) times because it allegedly was malfunctioning, just to find out it was a problem with Taekwindows interfering: In Photoshop, you need ALT+mouse click for some actions (like defining clone source etc.), So I'd like to change that key.

Thanks!

The action key is already customizable, but you can just set it to left Alt, right Alt or either Alt. The reason that I did not put the Windows key in, is that the Start menu would pop up every time you used it, and it was difficult to prevent this.

As a workaround (I use Photoshop myself), you can bind Taekwindow to only one of the two Alt keys, and use the other one for Photoshop.

I use MondoMouse on OSX leopard and was thrilled to find your utility for Win platforms. I'd vote for user-selectable modifier keys or combinations of keys including ctrl, shift and alt.

    Thanks.

Hi, you got my vote also...

I don't think that using Win-key is possible (StartMenu), however ability to use different combination is really needed...

For example Internet Explorer (and MANY other programs) are using Alt to access Menu, so Taekwindow doesn't work as expected :(

@Martin: I have tested with applications that use Alt to access the menu (pretty much all of them do) and have found no problems with Taekwindow interfering. If Internet Explorer is an exception to this, I suggest you switch to a decent browser, such as Firefox or Chrome. Which would be a good idea anyway.
