Not having contributed anything may not give me much of a voice here, 
but what is "pm"? I never heard of it before, but I know for sure that 
all platforms I regularly play with have a working make tool. So from 
my naive perspective, make is clearly preferable. After all, ACK is not 
about build tools, is it?

Just my $0.02 of course, not intended as a flame at all!
