The reason I prefer looped samples is that they can use much less space (for instance the melodica samples I have occupy 320kb in total for the 4 of them). And the reason I prefer to use less space is that I use to run TaalPulse on a PDA... but I guess it would be possible to make two versions, one with the longer samples and one with smaller ones. Anyway, I think long samples should also be looped.
