When the name NOD.B6 Idd18.4, Idd18.2 was added to the database only the first part ( NOD.B6 Idd18.4) was shown in the summary table on the result page. When the comma after Idd18.4 was removed the full name is showed.
Indicating that there was a split on comma, but I looked for an split /,/ statement in both persistable::strain.pm and strain_view.tt but there are none
This happens due to the loader bp_seqfeature_load.pl. When it loads this field it seems to truncate based on the comma value. I assume that the way around it is to add quotes to sensitive fields in the GFF file to be uploaded so that Name="NOD.B6 Idd18.4, Idd18.2" but I haven't tested this.
However the recommendation should be to avoid using ',' in strain names unless absolutely neccessary. I have set to won't fix as it's useful to have this behaviour documented
