Release of 1.26.73 of scc

To flatten the learning curve for new SCC users, the extended README is now part of the install and referred to after the install. Several enhancements of the collected data have been implemented.

Release of 1.19.44 of scc-srv

Release of 1.10.38 of scc-win

The new release supports the new data packaging by default. The copyright and support email address have been changes. The perl code adheres to perlcritic level 4 (with some exceptions) and a test for this is added.

Release of 1.24.240 of scc

The new release supports VIB (vSphere Installation Bundle) format and updated the FreeBSD and DragonFlyBSD package formats. Busybox diff is now fully supported. By default the new packaging method to transfer data to scc-srv is used. This requires at least release 1.18 of scc-srv. Many (vSphere) enhancements have been added to the collected data.

Release of 1.17.87 of scc-srv

All html is now html 5. The search results display attributes from summary data of the systems. The configuration of SMT and rules is available in separate pages. Script scc-pack has been removed as its function is implemented via a new option of scc-transfer.

Release of 1.9.35 of scc-win

The produced html is now strict html5. Processing transfer data is made consistent with scc-transfer and some minor changes in the collected data.

Release of 1.17.5 of scc-srv

Release 1.16.106 is unable to scc-pull the default client data of scc 1.24 clients. This scc-srv 1.17.5 release fixes this.

Release of 1.16.106 of scc-srv

Navigation of the search results has been enhanced. New SMT and log CSV files are available and summaries have been extended with the virtualization attribute.

Release of 1.23.185 of scc

The interfaces of scc, scc-log and scc-collect have changed. The -e option is now only meant for extra modules and the new -S option should be used to run selected modules only. Many additions have been made in the collected data. Several changes reduce the amount of "unwanted" changes in the logbook. Code has been changed to eliminate several warnings from shellcheck.

Introduce new packaging format for transfer of SCC data

A new packaging method for transferring SCC data to scc-srv has been implemented as the current method is hard to maintain and uses separate code for email and other transfer mechanisms. By default, the old packaging method is used. The 1.15.30 release of scc-srv handles both packaging formats. The new format supports encryption for scc and scc-win and for all transport mechanisms.

Use the --new_pack option for scc.pl in scc-win to use the new format and the --encrypt option to activate encryption. In scc use the -o new_pack option to use the new format and the -k option to activate encryption.... read more

Release of 1.14.68 of scc-srv

The interface of scc-pull has changed, the -L option is used for a list of systems instead of a file containing the names of systems. The summary pages contain references to all summary data in CSV format. The index page of a realm contains a reference to the top level index page. Option handling has been simplified and made consisten for all scripts.

Release 1.21.110 of scc

scc now uses "-p pull" as default transfer mechanism. At install, the --preinstall option of scc-log is used. Hosts running version 1.18 should first upgrade to 1.19 or 1.20 before applying version 1.21.

Re-commit of lost revisions after SourceForge storage crash completed

After the Sourforge restore, scc-srv and scc-win were uptodate and four revisions (r5566 - r5569) of scc were missing. These changes have been re-committed and scc, scc-srv and scc-win are now uptodate in the SourceForge repository.

Release of 1.13.35 of scc-srv

Selinux contexts are now more strict, reducing the configuration effort to run scc-srv. The webpage with the search results of all systems now supports detailed searching for all individual systems. The first run date of each client is added to the summary tables. A new program (scc-changes) selects changes for further processing and a FAQ has been added.

Release of 1.20.125 of scc

This is a bugfix release to fix incorrect use of strings in release 1.20.122.

The collected configuration data has been extended with many items and environments, for example docker, LXD/LXC and OpenStack. A new, generic spec file supports an install hierarchy adhering to FHS.

Release 1.7.57 of scc-win

This release uses a new production mechanism (Wix toolset) and MSI installer.
To upgrade from 1.6 (and earlier) versions, first uninstall the actual version of
SCC for Windows and then install the new version. Scheduling is compatible with
previous releases.

The release contains an updated blat.exe and minor changes for collected scheduled
tasks data to avoid unimportant changes in the logbook.

Release 1.6.20 of scc-win

Enforce running SCC as administartor. Preserve the profiling statistics in the snapshot. A FAQ has been added to the documentation. Some minor extensions have been made to the collection of configuration data.

Release 1.19.84 of scc

The production of the SCC software packages has been changed to facilitate customization. SCC now runs correctly in a docker container. The collection of configuration data has been extended and some data is now tagged variable to avoid changes in the logbook.

Release 1.18.150 of scc

The packaging has been corrected for the current versions of the operating systems. BSD packages now install in the default file system hierarchy. Statistical data is incorporated in the snapshot to facilitate processing in scc-srv. Many corrections and enhancements to the collected configuration data have been implemented.

Release 1.12.70 of scc-srv

The packaging has been corrected for the current versions of the operating systems. BSD packages now install in the default file system hierarchy. Gnuplot can be used to generate figures with the runtimes and number of changes of each client. The security context of scc-srv directories is set to enable scc-srv for strict selinux.
