insmod stk11xx.ko vflip=0/1 hflip=0/1
and you can use sysfs to change the side in running mode.

Same result here , I have ASMobile Asus Laptop PC here. I couldn't find a solution to rotate video image. I confirm this bug.

My picture is upside down too. The vflip parameter appears to be ignored/locked; whatever value I pass with modprobe or in my options file.
# cat /sys/module/stk11xx/parameters/vflip
always returns '1'.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" on an Asus V1J laptop. The USB information:
