Synkia development continues

Synkia is an easy to use way to synchronize all your telephone numbers and addresses in your mobile phone to the system wide AddressBook database on MacOS X 10.2 Jaguar and MacOS X 10.3 Panther.

Hi People,

after letting the project rest for about a year, I started to write code again.
I have to admit that my first approach to synchronization did not really work. The new approach will involve a central database known only to Synkia. This central database will keep all the address data and the extra bits needed for a painless synchronization (e.g. which phone numbers to be put into the phone)
Unfortunately this is a major change and we will be stuck with 0.1.1rc1 for quite a while (binarily speaking).
From this point on I will change the numbering scheme to the one used by the linux kernel developers. Even minor versions are considered stable, odd ones development. So 0.1.n will stay an development branch. no pre-versions no rc-versions any more in this branch.... read more

Synkia 0.1.1pre4 released

The new version has a more robust wrapper to the command line tool that retrieves the data from the phone and writes it back. It does a thorough protocol of its actions now. And you have a new switch where you can switch off writing to the phone, so that your phone contents stay untouched.

Have fun

Big Check-in

I made another big check-in of code. Now that I start to grasp the problem more and more the first working version is not too far away. Can't make any promises though
