There are some BBS systems that require local echo to be turned on. If you could add this to the options in them item preferences, that would be excellent.
Yeah... Me too I wish we could have "local echo" of what we type. There are some BBS where it would help because they don't echo back what we type and it's annoying a little. SyncTERM is close to be perfect. It is very nice.

I would love to use syncterm for MUDs and many of those do not "echo back" and need local echo support. +1 to this big time, and local echo was a standard feature of BBS communication apps back in the day!

by the way, i was going to try to add this myself but was unable to get it to compile on my windows machine. i got pretty far but ran into some sdl problems.

syncterm still does not have local echo toggle as far as i can see.
it would be useful with some muds/mush and talkers.
