(I didn't find any thread about this problem, sorry if I am repeating what others posted somewhere else).
Using version 6 r1624. On Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bits.
The program freezes sometimes when synchronizing large files (over 600 MB). Even if I wait a lot.
I have to press CANCEL, then start Syncing again, and then it works... until it stops again on another large file.
My hard drives are in good conditions.
Any solutions please?
Thanks in advance.

    Hi Saow,

Thanks for this report, and sorry for the trouble.
How long do you wait before pressing cancel? What speed does Create Synchronicity display before freezing? Are you sure that large files are copied correctly when you press cancel (I suspect that the copy stops on its way and Create Synchronicity doesn't detect the need to copy them again) ? Also, could you try waiting for a very long time (an hour for example), and seeing if Create Synchronicity doesn't end up copying the file ?
Finally, could you open the folder where Create Synchronicity is copying the file while the app seems to have frozen and refresh the folder listing so as to check whether the file size is increasing?

Copying operations are handled by native system functions, over which Create Synchronicity has little control, so I don't think the problem is directly related. Could you try copying the large file using Windows Explorer, and check how long it takes ?

Thanks for your help in fixing this problem, and again sorry for the trouble,
    Clément.

I also have seen issues when copying large files. Normally I can transfer large files around 10-20MB/s with windows explorer. Synchronicity shows the speed at 5.22MB/s. My RAM usage increases during large file transfers. Why would the program need to place the whole file in memory? I would suggest to Saow to look at the file location where the file is copying to. The GUI might not be updating after the large file is copied. Keep up the great work!

UPDATE: I double checked the copy rate against windows explorer and they were the same. Synchronicity copied at 5 MB/s and so did windows explorer.

Hi azpoulton, thanks for providing feedback on this problem and thanks for your nice comments! The speed problem scared me before I read your updated message, since I hardly could explain such a difference; the RAM problem is also surprising, though, since all that Create Synchronicity is doing is calling a system API to copy the file.
