hi i'm having a problem with syncing my contacts on iphone with my.funambol.comusing the funambol app. Here's my setup: outlook 2003 at home and at work (with exchange server but locally stored contacts), iphone with funambol app 0.7. i'm trying to sync all with my funambol.com having made the first upload to it from my work computer. the first sync with iphone worked great and i have all the contacts on my phone. now updating seems to be a problem and i can't figure out why. sync between the two computers running outlook works just fine. looking at the log file i get following info: 1) sync mode is slow 2) unnamed contacts (I can't figure out which those would be) 3) Error in syncing: server faulure: server returned error code -1 any ideas on this matter? your help is highly appreciated. regards Renzo |

Hi Renzo, I'm trying to investingate on your problem... you could do a couple of things to help me investigate... - first of all try to set the log level to DEBUG to do this you have to modify the /private/var/mobile/.sync4j/evolution/funambol/spds/syncml/config.txt to do this you need an ssh access to the iphone. when you are modifying the settings just look for # level of detail for log messages: # - 0 (or unset) = INFO messages without log file, DEBUG with log file # - 1 = only ERROR messages # - 2 = also INFO messages # - 3 = also DEBUG messages loglevel = 2 change the value from 2 to 3... sync and send us the new log - than you can tell me also your userid used on myfunambol so I can look into the server logs to find your sync and see what happened thank you Teo On Sat, Apr 12, 2008 at 12:37 AM, Renzo Peduzzi <ren...@gm...> wrote: > Hello Marco > > I'm using Firmware 1.1.1.4 > > not sure what the first log said, but something like "garbage found...* > > here's the log file of my latest sync attempt (I replaced the names with > 'Standard User'): > > > > 22:16:35 GMT +0200 [INFO] - Hey guys, I'm having some trouble being able to manually add an entry to the DB and get the record to sync down into the various devices. I flipped on the MySQL general logging for a bit, added a appointment using the web demo, then synced. After looking at the logs, I realize that I'm missing some sort of fundamental understanding of how the last_update entry works in fnbl_pim_calendar. Could someone give me a real high level idea of how I go about getting that value? I think that it's coming from the fnbl_last_sync table, but I'm not exactly sure. Is this last_update field the issue that's causing the sync engine to skip my records? Thanks! Evan |

Hi, to detect the modified calendars are used the values in the columns last_update and status in fnbl_pim_calendar. The last_update field is updated with the modification time (that is not the sync time) and the status is updated according to the modification type (N means new item, U item updated and D item deleted). You could try to use the webdemo client (http://<your-server>:<your-port>/webdemo) to see what happens in the database. bye Luigia Evan Ruff wrote: > > Hey guys, > > > > I'm having some trouble being able to manually add an entry to the DB > and get the record to sync down into the various devices. Hey Luigia, I do set those values in both the calendar and contact tables, but performing a sync still fails to detect those entries. What I have noticed is that the last_update value is different between the webdemo and my update statements. I am inserting UNIX_TIMESTAMP() * 1000 into the last_update field. For instance, this morning it inserted 1208867003000 (April 22, 2008, 8:23AM EST). Status = 'U' However, when I do an update to the same record through the webdemo I get a last_update of 1208849001973, (April 22, 2008, 3:23am EST, or 723am GMT). Status = 'U' Is this what is causing my problem? It seems like even if I wait to sync, it still won't detect the changes. I can't find anything different in the records before/after the webdemo or my web client updates the record. Thanks for the help! I know there's some funny business in my code, but I'm just having a trouble tracking it down. Thanks! E -----Original Message----- From: syn...@li... Subject: Re: [funambol-users] Correct Last_Update entry Hi, to detect the modified calendars are used the values in the columns last_update and status in fnbl_pim_calendar. The last_update field is updated with the modification time (that is not the sync time) and the status is updated according to the modification type (N means new item, U item updated and D item deleted). You could try to use the webdemo client (http://<your-server>:<your-port>/webdemo) to see what happens in the database. bye Luigia |

Hi, from the log you sent I suspect that the application in not logging in debug mode... please be sure, before changing the value as instructed in the previous messages, that the application is not running. If the application is still running and you change the value in the file, the application will use the value stored in the memory and at the end it will rewrite your modification. please retry paying attention to this issue thanks Teo On Tue, Apr 22, 2008 at 12:12 AM, Renzo Peduzzi <ren...@gm...> wrote: > Hi Teo > > thanks for your help. Hello Renzo, what firwmare version are you using? Since you get a slow sync I assume a previous sync failed for some reason. Is there any chance you checked the log file at the very first sync that failed? Anyway, could you please post the entire log file? Thanks for your feedback.
