[funambol-users] open-xchange + sonyericsson K750 syncing in only one way

Hello,

I use Funambol 6.5.14 + oxconnector 6.5.8
I would like to sync my SE K750i with open-xchange calendar but I can only
sync from my K750 to open-xchange. I can't receive any appointment from
open-xchange 's calendar.

Hereunder is a part of the logs file.
It seems that there is a date value error or something else.

I'm trying to sync under OX tree, only the oxcal item (type VCal, no
encrypt)

I've trying the Funambol portal (my.funambol.com) and start syncing after
the funambol sms setup.

I've got the same problem. I can only sent appointment from my K750 to
Funambol's calendar. After sending items, i've got session failed.

Maybe a device problem?

the 6.5.X OX connector has an issue in the oxcal. I suggest to sync separately the event and the task. 
note that the symbian phone sends in the same session task and event.ù

[funambol-users] Problem with Funambol and Syncevolution

Good day, i'm trying to synchronize a server funambol with “evolution”
across of Syncevolution, everything works fine, but when I verify
synchronization of calendar, can be seen from the server a difference 4
hours regarding the originally introduced in the evolution.


By what i have be seen syncevolution worked with iCalendar and
funambol
with Vcalendar, so i think it is a problem of interpretation.

This is one of the known problems in that combination:

        SyncEvolution and Evolution itself use the iCalendar 2.0 format
        for events and todos. myFUNAMBOL uses vCalendar 1.0. Both have
        some support for parsing incoming items in the other format, so
        exchanging data is possible in principle, but be prepared to run
        into problems:
        
              * Time zone information is sent by SyncEvolution, but not
                used by myFUNAMBOL and not preserved. Make sure that
                client and server are set to the same time zone to
                mitigate the problem. This is not going to help with
                events which were scheduled in different time zones. 
              * Importing items with special characters into Evolution
                scrambles these characters because Evolution does not
                handle the vCalendar 1.0 encoding of these characters.
              * Sending such items with a broken encoding back to the
                server can cause a parser exception on the server.
              * Alarms get lost, probably regardless in which direction
                the events are sent.
              * The information that an event is an all-day event gets
                lost.
        
        Warning
        Because of these problems it is not recommended to synchronize
        events and tasks with myFUNAMBOL. Users of a local Funambol
        installation might be able to avoid the encoding problems by
        configuring their server as described by Mauro, but this has not
        been tested; the problem with ignored time zones and lost alarms
        will persist.

Hopefully the situation will improve with the next Funambol server
releases, which will have better iCalendar 2.0 support. Whether
myFUNAMBOL will offer that remains to be seen: I asked the developers,
but didn't get a reply.

As mentioned by Andrea, this issue is scheduled to be fixed with the
next Funambol release, but in the meantime I received answers to my mail
on the developers list and ...

... there are no plans to support communication between client and
server using iCalendar 2.0. This means these two problems will continue
to exist.

Perhaps the answer was not clear:the timezone support is under
development and so far it is foreseen for Capri release.
Everything will go on myFunambol, so the question is not 'whether' but
' when' : I don't have a precise ETA not, but usually this happen more
or less one month after GA. Considering the summer holidays, this may
be delayed a bit.

My question wasn't about time zone support (which was answered), but
rather about the iCalendar 2.0 format itself. Here is the unanswered
question again, in case that you missed it on the developers list:

        Will there be a sync URI which sends and receives iCalendar 2.0
        or will the normal calendar URI be changed so that it sends
        iCalendar 2.0 when the client indicates that it can only handle
        iCalendar 2.0?

>From a user's perspective the question is: do they have to reconfigure
their clients (SyncEvolution and Thunderbird) to use a different URI, or
will everything work automatically after the upgrade of myFUNAMBOL?

BTW, is the spelling myFunambol or myFUNAMBOL?
