[Sync4j-announce] Funambol open source licensing update

Dear Funambol Community: 

 

Funambol today announced that it was adopting the newly released AGPLv3
license for its open source software. This will become effective with the
general availability (GA) release of Funambol v6.5, due within a few
weeks. Funambol made this change as we believe that AGPLv3 is the
appropriate successor license to the Honest Public License (HPL) that we
introduced last year. As AGPLv3 is very similar to HPL but has some
advantages for the community, such as being compatible with more open
source licenses, we believe it is in the best interests of the community
to adopt AGPLv3.
