just a note: you don't need M$ windows desktop to use a WinMobile
phone with Funambol. Currently, it is for sure the where Funambol is
better integrated using the Funambol plugin. On Nokia you can sync
contacts/calendar with the native sync client and use the Funambol
JavaME client to get push email. The Java client is growing fast and it
will have more feature in the next release, and we are also developing
new solutions for the Symbian OS, but you need to wait a bit to have
the same features of Windows Mobile.
Said that, I've got a Nokia 6120 and I'm happy about it.
I'm planning to buy 2 mobile phones for our office. We need them to be
syncml compliant as we intend to use them both with push email enable +
calendar+ task synchronisation via funambol DS server 6.5.
What would be your advice ? OS (Symbian) ? which model ? Has anybody
had any good experience ? I thought of : Sony Ericson (P1 /
G700 / G900) or Nokia (E61i/N95). I'd prefer with a keyboard but WITHOUT
m$ windows please ;-) since it would be useless (no more windows here
at the office :-) nor at home :-) ).
Best regards and thanks for your great advice
Hi Andrea,

Of course, one might have taken my post as a kind of Open Source /
Free Software fanatism ;-) But on the other hand, working for a
company devoted to promote, use, develop exclusively Open Source
Software, I cannot afford using MS windows. It would be easier but an
easier non-sens... That's why I'd prefer to have less functionalities
but to work to improve them ;-) This is just my David vs Goliath side...

Anyway, thanks for your reply. I think I'll go for one e61i + one e65
and do some tests with those phones + Carlo's last 0.4.2 TB PIM plugin.

Cheers,
