As per the documentation I downloaded the dictionary from http://www.m3rlin.org/synspellcheck/index.php?page=download. I setup in the OPTIONs pointing to that dictionary.
The question is when you ADD a new word where does it go? I check the C:\Program Files\syn\SynSpell\english.1-1-4.dic file for any changes or addition and non were found. I also check for any new files created in the Syn directory and non were updated. So where are the words that I am adding going?
Please let me know because this is confusing. On would figure it would either update the current dictionary or create a CUSTOM.DIC to add the new words to.
Much Thanks..

It should be stored in C:\Program Files\Common
Files\SynSpell\*.user.dic file

Neum, I took your suggestion but got a funny error message.
[02/15/04 16:13:41] Message: Access violation at address 0050CA7D in module 'syn.exe'. Read of address 00000008. Class: TTBItem. I am not sure if this is related to another problem that I have. It happed after changing the directory path. I might have a possible {.EXE} corruption.

Does this happen every time when you use Edit / Spell
Checking menu? What version of syn do you use? I cannot
reproduce it here...

Neum it is reproducable kind of or I really have a corrupt {.EXE} file. I did an uninstall and reinstall just in case. But here is how I did it and the results.
The way it reproduced the error is:
1. Start with opening a Project File then close the project
2. Click on the Options Icon
3. Click on Spell Checker
4. Click on the Triple-DOTs, to browse
4.1 Select a different directory, say C:\temp
4.2 Click Open, you should get the following error message
4.2.1 Title: Open; Error: C:\Temp\english.1-1-4.dic File not Found. Please verify the correct name was given.
4.2.2 Click OK, to close Open error window
4.3 Click Cancel, to close the Open window
5. Click on OK, to close Options Windows
Here was the results:
[02/20/04 12:53:29] Message: Access violation at address 0050CA7D in module 'syn.exe'. Read of address 00000009. Class: TTBItem
[02/20/04 12:54:27] Message: Access violation at address 0050CA7D in module 'syn.exe'. Read of address 00000009. Class: TTBItem
[02/20/04 13:47:41] Message: Access violation at address 0050CA7D in module 'syn.exe'. Read of address 00000009. Class: TTBItem
It seems to be a special condition that is setup up after you close a project. I am not sure. Please try it out and tell me what you come up with.
Thanks!
