In order to use Syllog, you should:
You should ask your students to open a web browser and point it to the URL which you have created during the [Installation] process.
If, as part of the [Installation] process, you created a self-signed code-signing certificate for signing the Java applet, your students will see a security warning when the open the URL.
You should simply instruct the students to OK the security warning, i.e., accept that the Applet gets the access it asks for.
Failure on the student's part to accept the security warning will result in their answers not being logged.
