It's not a matter of the Syllable kernel not being mature enough, it's a 
matter of it being different than Linux. I got a build failure on trying 
to include a Linux semaphore header, and that's where I stopped that 
experiment for the moment being. A few basic adaptations to the Genode 
port would probably do, as the other requirements for the Genode 
development environment, such as SDL, are simply there in Desktop.
