I have a machine with 1.25GB RAM. Syllable boots and runs fine without any 
special tricks. According to the Sylllable manager all 1.25 GB is correctly 
detected.

I'm not familiar enough with the technical issues to help much, but I can help 
if you need someone to test 1GB+ stuff.
